Pregnancy Belly Bowl Session
A one-of-a-kind keepsake made from the shape of your growing belly.
There are only a few months when your body carries your baby so close. A Pregnancy Belly Bowl is a way to remember this season exactly as it was, your beautiful, growing belly, captured in clay and transformed into a functional piece of art you can treasure for years to come.
Created in Angie’s home pottery studio in Virginia Beach, each belly bowl is made using your pregnant belly as the mold. The result is an organic, one-of-a-kind bowl that reflects the unique shape of your body and the baby you’re waiting to meet.
Sessions are available between 30–38 weeks of pregnancy.
What to Expect
-

01. Arrive & Get Comfortable
Your private session takes place in Angie’s home studio in Virginia Beach (near Great Neck Road and First Colonial Road). Plan to spend up to 2 hours in the studio.
You’ll be seated throughout the process, so you can be comfortable while Angie works with the clay.
-

02. Create Your Bowl
Using your pregnant belly as the mold, Angie will carefully stretch a sheet of clay over your belly to create the shape of your bowl.
The clay will remain on your belly for approximately 30 minutes while the form is created.
You simply get to relax and enjoy the process!
-

03. Make It Yours
Choose the colors and finish for your bowl, and personalize it with your baby’s name.
After your session, your bowl will be glazed and fired in the kiln by Angie.
-

04. Take Home A Keepsake
Approximately 2 weeks after your session, your finished belly bowl will be ready to pick up from the studio.
Make It a Celebration
You don’t have to experience your belly bowl session alone.
Bring up to 4 people with you to share in the experience. Invite your partner, mom, sister, best friend, or anyone else you’d love to have there as you create this special keepsake.
Optional Pottery Add-Ons:
-
Spend some extra time getting your hands in the clay and create another piece alongside your belly bowl. This is a fun way to make the experience even more interactive, and you’ll have another handmade piece to remember the day by.
-
Add a unique vase featuring an indentation created from the shape of your pregnant belly. Angie will gently press the vase into your belly to create a one-of-a-kind impression in the clay.
After Baby Arrives…
Your belly bowl captures the beauty of your pregnancy. Once your little one arrives, you can add one more piece to the story.
As part of your belly bowl experience, you’ll receive a complimentary 6" x 6" baby footprint tile after birth. Choose a classic square or soft, organic circle shape, and capture those tiny footprints forever.
